Unsure about what you believe anymore?
Questioning the faith you received as a child?
Feelinglike you’ve “outgrown” certain ideas about God and religion?
Seeking a faith that embraces your sexuality or gender identity?
Traumatized by religion? Told you just “don’t belong?”
Tired of not being able to ask questions or admit doubts?
We have a group for you! It’s all about questions! We are starting a group called Reconstruct. Many of us have had life experiences that have caused us to question the belief systems we grew up with - particularly beliefs about God and church. When that happens, it often causes great inner turmoil. We find ourselves at odds with the very institutions we were told we could always trust.
We provide a safe space for belonging, community and questions. A place to process and deconstruct changes in your theology. An environment that embraces mystery, curiosity and self-discovery. A place where talking about hurts and traumas is welcomed. A place where we can all learn from each other. About your facilitator… Jennifer Mayeaux holds a master’s degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. She has experience pastoring and starting churches in the Midwest and South. When Jennifer accepted her authentic self and began a gender transition, she found herself outside of the place she had always called home – church. Jennifer began to deconstruct some of the toxic ideas that she once held and replaced them with healthy and life-giving ones. Her passion is to walk with others through the process of shedding beliefs and ideas that no longer serve them.
