Contact Evelyn

Evelyn works with adolescents, adults and partners who are experiencing life transitions; new
school, young adulthood, marriage, parenting, professional career changes, and middle age or
older adult life challenges, I am specially trained to work with individuals with anxiety,
depression, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, relationship problems, family issues, medical diagnosis, and
environmental and climate change dread. I also enjoy exploring the big existential questions that
surround our last chapter in our lives.

You are already helping yourself as you search for a therapist that will provide you with the
safety, sensitivity, empathy, and knowledge to assist you in helping you explore your feelings,
experiences, and difficulties. Neurobiology research has proven that once you make up your
mind and seek help, your brain chemistry is already changing. I would be honored to be a part
of your journey.

My therapeutic focus is on empowering my clients using a Positive Psychology
approach that begins with uncovering and/or validating the client’s individual
strengths that are often entwined with their cultural, community, and/or family
experiences. After identifying your personal strengths and goals, we will
collaborate together to work through those identified concerns by integrating a
psychodynamic approach and the appropriate evidenced based treatments. I am
clinically experienced in:

Certified in EMDR for trauma and complex PTSD,
Certified in Deconstructing Anxiety,
Training in Internal Family Systems,
Certified in Ecopsychology
Motivational Interviewing,
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Solution Focused Brief Therapy,
Trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction,
The Gottman Approach for Partners.

My hope for your therapy is your personal independence that will be maintained
by your confidence, self-knowledge, and life skills which will enable you to
live the life you want and be the person you want to be!

My Background:
Becoming a Clinical Mental Health Counselor is a mid-life passion and adventure
that I started years ago after a long and successful professional career as a
Registered Nurse and homemaker. After raising my children with my husband
while balancing my family needs and work life, I had the opportunity to
explore a lifelong passion for helping others. I have a bachelor’s degree
in Health Administration and have been a registered nurse for over 30 years.
