Therapy can be a great way to improve mental health and well-being. To list a few examples,
therapy can help to understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; develop coping skills;
manage stress; improve relationships; and build self-esteem. As a therapist, I endeavor to
create a space where children, adolescents and adults can learn, grow, and hone their abilities to navigate their lives
toward one of more empowerment.
I obtained a BA in Psychology with a Minor in Biology from Knox College in 2009. For the
following 10 years, I first worked as a wilderness staff in the Southeast with adolescents and
then with a school in the Pacific Northwest with children who experienced challenges associated
with behavior, impulsivity, anxiety, depression, and substances. While I worked with these
children and adolescents, I was inspired to pursue a degree to become a therapist. I received
my Master of Arts in Counseling from City University of Seattle in 2021. Since graduating, my
work has included working with a community mental health agency, focused largely on children
and adolescents and their families. Recently I relocated to the Asheville area and am excited to
bring my experience to Full Circle and the community. I am certified in CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, and
trained in EMDR.
When not in sessions, I enjoy spending time with my dog exploring the natural world, making
music on my guitar or trumpet, and honing my sleight-of-hand skills.
