First and foremost, I am a Person-Centered counselor, whose goal is to provide space for you to come to therapy as your true self where you can experience non-judgment and feeling heard. As we continue our work together and form a strong therapeutic relationship, we can begin to identify solutions that are in alignment with what you value most. I like my clients to walk away from our sessions feeling they can take something tangible away to begin applying to their everyday lives.
My education background is in Social Work, which I have a degree in from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I am working towards my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir-Rhyne in Asheville and plan on graduating in December 2023. My most recent counseling experience has been through my counseling internship at Foundations Asheville, where my focus has been working with young adults transitioning out of wilderness therapy programs back into life with their newly acquired skills and insights.
In addition to counseling, I enjoy hiking, disc golf, being outside in general, and spending time with my fiancé. I hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2018 and believe heavily in the healing powers of nature. I’d love to incorporate the use of wilderness into my counseling.
