So often in our society, we are surrounded by constant stimuli: phone notifications pinging, busy social media feeds, dogs barking, family members asking for things, e-mail inboxes piling up, etc. You have so many things demanding your attention. As a counselor-in-training, I strive to create a space where you can pause, take a breath, and reconnect with yourself.
I really enjoy connecting with folks on a relational human level, which helps me to create a comfortable environment for my clients. Since everyone is an individual with their own unique set of perspectives and experiences, I aim to create an individualized approach in our work together. However, some theoretical orientations that I tend to pull from include person-centered, existential, and solutions-focused therapy.
I am very passionate about working with individuals who are living in larger bodies that have been affected by body shame and diet culture and, in general, people who have spent their entire lives trying to shrink themselves down in order to feel worthy of love and acceptance. I also enjoy working with individuals who are grappling with perfectionism, anxiety, life transitions, and being their own worst critic. I look forward to walking next to you on your personal journey.
