Being a human in the world today can be tough. Having to carry the persistent fear and pain of living during a global pandemic while managing your own mental health, finances, relationships, and day-to-day life stressors can feel like an overwhelming burden. My goal is to provide a safe, trusting space for you to come up for air, take a look at the things weighing you down, and create a sense of spaciousness in your life.
My therapeutic work is driven by the belief that you have all of the answers within you already. My job is to walk alongside you to discover, with curiosity and awe, your brilliant resilience. Using a strengths-based, psychodynamic approach, my goal is to partner with you to uncover wounds from the past, help to unburden you from damaging self-beliefs and/or messages from systems of oppression, while drawing upon your inner wisdom to cultivate healing, renewal, and power. Therapy is a meeting of equals - my relationship with my clients is the heart of my counseling approach, and I seek to bring genuineness, humor, warmth, and vulnerability into our sessions.
I come to counseling with a background in yoga, adolescent treatment, trauma counseling, and substance abuse recovery. For over three years, I worked with adolescents seeking treatment for a broad range of issues and crises. I also have experience working with substance abuse recovery, and counseling clients on the path towards healing from sexual violence. I decided to become a therapist after discovering the link between the mind, body, and spirit through my yoga teacher training, and now as a clinician, I seek to foster recovery through mindful awareness of the body. As a therapist, I integrate techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities, based on the needs of my clients. I enjoy working with adult and adolescent individuals, families, and couples.
