I am cisgender, have been married for 37 years, and am the proud mother of three grown boys (one of whom is a transgender man). We have called Florida home ever since I attended college and have only recently transplanted to Western North Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Florida State University in 1983. Shortly after, I married and moved to Titusville, as my husband was hired as a high school teacher and coach. Several years later, I began working with the Space Shuttle program, where I spent most of my working life. When the program ended in 2013, I worked in a series of jobs including everything from an Uber driver to a tax preparer. In 2018, I had a eureka moment and realized I was not “too old” to pursue a master’s degree in counseling. Instead, my age could be an asset in the counselor’s chair. I am currently seeking my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and am providing counseling to meet requirements for internship hours as part of my degree. I have really enjoyed being able to put what I have learned in the classroom into practice! I love learning about the unique qualities of the clients with whom I get to work and interact with. It is a blessing to assist them on their journey towards fulfillment. My Christian faith is very important to me, but I do not impose my faith or particular beliefs on anyone else. If you feel I would be a good fit for you, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
